Pining for the dying

Although it knew that its closest friend was old and it was time for him to die, it couldn’t quite control itself.

The pine tree pined for its dried up and dead neighbor.


This post is written for the Write at the Merge, Week 43 prompt where the post had to be written using “pine” either as a noun or a verb, and just for fun I wrote a post using the word both ways.

1983 – Teething troubles


Each slice of the pizza took me back by 6 yrs. After five slices I had reached an age where I didn’t have any teeth to bite into the pizza anymore.
