Darkness, you don’t scare me anymore.
All your attempts at disrupting my mental balance, at my peace, at my equanimity will not work anymore.
After all, I turned 3 years old just yesterday.

This is my first attempt at a Trifecta Weekend Writing Challenge.
The challenge this weekend was to use an apostrophe – “A figure of speech in which some absent or nonexistent person or thing is addressed as if present and capable of understanding” and write a 33 word post using it.
Wow…in 33 words. Amazing! I can write pages and pages and yet I’ll be unable to make any sense out of it. This one’s really good. 🙂
@Reks, thanks a lot, was my first attempt at 33 fiction though
Must say, a fabulous attempt. 🙂
@Reks, thank you so much
Very cool!
@Latonya, thank you
How amazing is this! 33 words, a story and so cute too 🙂

One thought: “All your attempts at disrupting my mental balance, at my peace, at my equanimity will not work anymore.” The second and third ‘at’s seem out of place. Please correct me if I’m wrong. (I hope I’m wrong!)
@Proactive Indian, I didn’t quite notice it until you did 😦
Loved it. It took off as a profound speech. Enjoyed the twist at the end.
@Sini, the twist was what made the post quite nice, no???
So sweet. Glad it was a child’s rational fear, nothing darker : )
@Kymmin Barcelona, the ending pulled it back, didn’t it 🙂
A great one! Very well written!
@mademoisellemv, thank you so much, merci
This is a new genre introduced to me!! N you did a good job…really sweet!
@Aditi, thank you and my pleasure
I’m still afraid of the dark…at forty, I doubt there’s much hope for me 🙂
@jannatwrites, there always is hope 🙂
Take me right back to that childhood fear– does it ever REALLY go away??
best,
MOV
@MOV, well, I am thirty three now and that fear hasn’t yet gone away fully!!!
That’s quite the vocabulary for a three-year-old!
This is adorable. Thank you for linking up!
@trifectawriting, thank you so much, this was my first trifecta attempt 🙂
*hahaha* I loved the serious tone – the last line completely threw me for a loop! Wonderful entry – and your first attempt, you say? Well done, and welcome to Trifecta! Hope to see more of you.
@Christine, thank you, I loved the concept of the Trifecta challenge itself, and yes, this was my first attempt. For sure, you will see more of my entries in various Trifecta challenges 🙂
I am a *huge* fan of Trifecta – in addition to being constantly inspired by the prompts (they’re just what I need), the community here is enormously supportive.
33-fiction! I loved what you were able to do with just 33 words….great stuff! 🙂
@Preeti, thanks 🙂
